Sleighs pulled by reindeer have been a traditional means of transportation for the Lappish people for thousands of years, often of caravans of 25 to 30 reindeer at a time. Arrival to Saariselka airport. Private Sedan Transfer pick up at the Saariselka airport/ Drop off at the hotel in Saariselka. Check-in at your hotel (guaranteed from 3pm).

This peaceful hotel is situated next to Urho Kekkonen National Park, less than 30 minutes' drive from Ivalo Airport. Guests enjoy free sauna facilities and access to cross-country skiing tracks.
Santa's Tunturi Hotel is close to the Kaunispaa and Iisakkipaa ski slopes. Snowmobile safaris, snowshoe hiking and reindeer sleigh rides can also be arranged by the hotel.
Day 2: Explore Saariselka

10:00am - Reindeer safari (2 Hours)
This safari introduces you to the ancient Lappish mode of transport: the reindeer sleigh. In the old days, the only means of winter transportation for the people of Lapland was on sleighs pulled by reindeer. Often there could be as many as 25 to 30 reindeer pulling you in a long caravan. You will experience this traditional, peaceful way of moving through snowscapes where the only thing you will hear is the soft sound of the sleigh gliding on the snow. A warm drink will be served by the fire.

Day 3: Discover Saariselka

Check out from Santa's Hotel Tunturi and take a private transfer to the Northern Lights Village. In the afternoon, enjoy an exciting Husky Safari (2 Hours). Driving a team of huskies over the white, shimmering fells is an experience that is almost mandatory during a trip to Lapland. The eager dogs run at full speed and the sleigh glides effortlessly over the snowdrifts with the skids hissing softly. The lead dog turns to look at you at a crossroads - right or left? Mush! The husky safari starts just in front of the resort and takes you on a fast-paced trip over the untouched snow of the fells and the forests surrounding the Northern Lights Village. This is an experience that you will never forget!
Note: They have two-person sleighs. Each sleigh is ridden by one of the guests.
